『Daesang Asia scholarship for Spring 2024』 Application Guidelines

 

1. About Daesang Foundation

○ Daesang foundation is founded by Daesang Company, one of Korea’s leading general food companies which has established its global branch, such as Miwon Vietnam and Duck viet.

 

2. Purpose of the Scholarship

○ By supporting Asian students to study in Korea, Daesang aims to cultivate global leaders who have knowledge in Korean economy, social and culture, and eventually build a global network.

 

3. Eligible Applicants

○ Newly admitted Vietnamese students to Seoul National University’s Graduate school for the Spring 2024 semester

 

4. Total Candidates to be Selected

○ 4 persons in total

  - Liberal Arts and Social Science majors : 2 Person

  - Natural Science and Engineering majors : 2 Person

 

5. Amount of Scholarship & Types

○ Liberal Arts and Social Science majors: 19,000,000 KRW per year

  - Categories: Tuition Fees - 7,000,000 KRW(maximum), Living stipend-12,000,000 KRW

○ Natural Science and Engineering majors: 20,000,000 KRW per year

  - Categories: Tuition Fees - 8,000,000 KRW(maximum), Living stipend -12,000,000 KRW

○ 500,000 KRW for settlement aid for the first visit to Korea

 

6. Support Period

○ Master's degree program, PhD program : 2 years (maximum)

○ Combined master’s and doctorate degree program : 3 years (maximum)

 

7. Required Documents

○ Application Form* (Form 1)

○ Self Description (Form 2)

○ Statement of Purpose (Form 3)

○ Consent Form for Processing the Personal Information (Form 4)

○ Transcript of TOPIK　score of level 3 or higher (not mandatory, bonus points for those who submit)

* Copies of transcripts and certifications, and other evidential documents to prove the statements

written in the application are also required.

 

8. Timeline for Applications for Daesang Asia Scholarship Program for Spring 2024

 

Dates	Events
~ January 5th (Fri.), 2024, 6PM ~ December 29th (Fri), 2023, 6PM	○ Submission of applications for the Daesang Asia Scholarship Program → Must be submitted as an official document from the applicant’s affiliated college ※Early submissions are recommended so that the applicants’affiliated college can prepare to send the documents to the SNU OIA within the deadline - Therefore, applicants are required to submit their documents to the person in charge(Ms. Yeji Cha) at the CSE admin office by December 29th (Fri), 2023.
During January 2024	○ Screening test from the Daesang Foundation
During January 2024	○ Announcement of the Scholarship Recipients (via email, only for those selected)
