Mines Saint-Etienne
Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Saint-Etienne (EMSE), one of the best French engineering schools, is founded in 1816 and celebrates his 200th anniversary in this year. Our missions are: education of highly qualified managers, development of applied research to meet the needs of industry, active contribution to companies’ innovation & competitiveness worldwide. The school is composed of 5 centers which take responsibility of teaching and research activities: Material science and Mechanical engineering (SMS), Chemical Engineering and Energy (SPIN), Henri Fayol Institute, Microelectronics in Provence (CMP), Biomedical and Healthcare engineering (CIS). Concerning teaching system, our school delivers two Engineer’s degrees (ICM and ISMIN), Master of Science and Ph.D.Engineering courses for ICM and ISMIN degrees are very typical system, unique in the world. Through this presentation, a detailed presentation will be given on these two degree courses. Two general MOU were signed with College of Engineering of SNU in 1999 and at the university level with SNU in 2000. A dual degree agreement between MSC of SNU and ICM of EMSE was signed in 2006. Since those dates, 4 dual PhD and 23 dual masters were dissertated. And a dozen students are sent to partner institution each year as exchange students with credit transfer. We hope that this strong partnership would be reinforced by research co-works on computer science and electrical engineering.
